Maintenance Worker

Spokane Valley, WA

AFCO Mill operates one of the region’s premier feed mills in Spokane Valley, WA. Our mill manufactures a variety of product lines including LMF Horse Feeds, Palouse Brand, Earth First Poultry Feed, Aslin-Finch Feeds, Backyard Bistro and Barnyard Bistro. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES 

• Perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks. 

• Assist with picking up refuse in and around the facility. 

• Perform janitorial services and painting tasks. 

• Operate related equipment (vacuum, broom, mop, power floor scrubber, pressure washer). 

• Assist with production and maintenance support. 

• Safely use and operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts and delivery vehicles. 

• Perform tasks in accordance to FDA, OSHA, State and Federal Safety Regulations. 

• Maintain a safe, clean, working environment and equipment. 

• Exhibit an ability to get along with others. 

• Practice punctual and reliable attendance. 

• Other duties as assigned 

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

• High school diploma (or equivalent) 

• Must pass pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment 

• Possess a valid driver license with safe driving history 

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older to perform the functions of this position for compliance with state and federal rules 

• Commitment to excellence and high standards 

• Physical ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop and kneel frequently 

• Physical ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 60 pounds (occasionally 80 pounds with assistance) 

• Physical ability to reach and extend arms above head 

• Proven track record of being safe, dependable and reliable 

• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with co-workers and customers 

• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and analytical skills 

• Ability to follow directions verbally and written 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

• Demonstrate a willingness to work long hours and/or weekends. 

• Experience safely operating a forklift, lift trucks, hand trucks, dollies and other loading and moving equipment used in warehouse operations 

• Working knowledge of building maintenance and facility up-keep

SCHEDULE 

This is a full time, 40 hours per week position. This position works four, ten-hour shifts. Typically scheduled from 4:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday through Thursday. Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed. 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS 

$18.00 – $20.00/hour. After meeting eligibility requirements, benefits include:
