 AFCO Distribution & Milling is a division of Skagit Farmers Supply, a diversified agricultural supply cooperative. Skagit Farmers Supply was founded in Burlington, WA in 1934 and has grown into four core business divisions: agronomy, retail, energy, and wholesale distribution & milling. Our commitment is to provide quality products and services to our customers and community partners. 

AFCO serves over 800 retail customers in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and Alaska. The company distributes over 7,000 products including pet food & supplies, animal feed & supplies, as well as a wide variety of wildlife products. Customers receive weekly orders within our routed territories. Deliveries are provided by a fleet of company trucks from the company’s distribution center warehouses. 

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Accurately pick, load, unload, and store products. 

• Use equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, and delivery vehicles. 

• Utilize RF scan guns to verify product placement and maintain organization within the warehouse. 

• Demonstrate product knowledge. 

• Ensure items are clean, shelf-ready, and free from short-dated or expired products. 

• Plan and manage daily route schedules, handle overweight truck issues, and ensure trailers are loaded according to DOT regulations and weight guidelines. 

• Inspect trailers, pallets, and equipment, and address any issues. 

• Maintain adherence to OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations. 

• Verify the accuracy of loaded orders, complete required documentation, and ensure all shipments are secure. 

• Assist in training new employees and perform thorough warehouse inspections. 

• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, report any safety, equipment, or pest issues to management. 

• Exhibit an ability to get along with others 

• Practice punctual and reliable attendance 

• Perform other duties as assigned 

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

• High school diploma (or equivalent) 

• Must pass pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment 

• Possess a valid driver license with safe driving history 

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older to perform the functions of this position for compliance with state and federal rules 

• Physical ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop and kneel frequently 

• Physical ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 60 pounds (occasionally 80 pounds with assistance) 

• Commitment to excellence and high standards especially in terms of providing outstanding customer service 

• Proven track record of being safe, dependable and reliable 

• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with co-workers and customers for safety purposes 

• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and analytical skills 

• Ability to follow directions verbally, written and on maps 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

• Demonstrate a willingness to work long hours and/or weekends. 

• Experience in safely operating a forklift, lift trucks, hand trucks, dollies and other loading and moving equipment used in warehouse operations 

• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving and analytical skills 

• Helpful and cheerful attitude is important 

SCHEDULE 

This is a full time, 40 hours per week position. Scheduled Monday through Friday, but must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed. 

COMPENSATION& BENEFITS 

$17.00 – $20.00/hour. After meeting eligibility requirements, benefits include:
