Warehouse Supervisor

AFCO Distribution, a wholesale distribution company located in Spokane Valley, WA serves over 800 retail customers. The company distributes over 7,000 products including animal feed, garden and nursery supplies, wildlife products, pet food and supplies, etc. Delivery is provided by a fleet of company trucks from the company’s distribution center warehouse.
Candidates should be flexible and detail oriented with a great attitude while ensuring excellent customer service at all times. Ideal candidates will possess a high level of initiative, discretion and independent judgment, with a can-do attitude and the ability to multi-task. One who can see things that need to be done and figure out a way to do them effectively and efficiently.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Coordinate product distribution activities of a centralized warehouse operations
• Direct the day-to-day tasks of warehouse personnel
• Complete orders by accurately picking, loading and unloading products as needed
• Accurately place and store products in accordance with company standards and government regulated specifications
• Receive inbound deliveries and prepare outbound shipments for distribution to locations
• Perform inventory maintenance activities
• Safely operate vehicles, forklifts, pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment
• Exhibit strong safety practices and leadership
• Maintain the overall general upkeep and housekeeping of the warehouse and surrounding area
• Train, motivate and coach personnel; work with management to conduct annual performance reviews and resolve personnel issues as they may arise
• Exhibit an ability to get along with others
• Practice punctual and reliable attendance
• Perform other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• High school diploma (or equivalent) or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
• Commitment to excellence and high standards especially in terms of providing outstanding customer service
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop and kneel frequently
• Lift, carry and load 60 pounds (minimum) weight requirements
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Proven track record of being dependable and reliable
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing in a manner with co-workers and customers for safety purposes
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Possess a reliable personal vehicle, valid driver license and maintain a safe driving record
• Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment (includes testing for THC/marijuana)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Two years’ experience supervising the activities of others
• Experience safely operating pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.
• Experience working in a warehouse and/or retail setting
SCHEDULE
This is a full time, 40 hours per week position (schedule will vary). Typically Monday through Friday, 1:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.
