WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE

AFCO Distribution & Milling is a division of Skagit Farmers Supply, a diversified agricultural supply cooperative. Skagit Farmers Supply, based in Burlington, WA, has been in business since 1934, and continues to grow and adapt to meet the needs of the farmers, homeowners, businesses, families, and communities in the Pacific Northwest. The company operates Agronomy, Propane, Refined Fuels and Wholesale divisions as well as ten retail Country Store locations in Washington & Montana. Our commitment is to provide quality products and services to our customers and community partners.

AFCO serves over 800 retail customers. The company distributes products such as animal feed, wildlife products, pet food and supplies, fencing and livestock equipment. Customers receive weekly orders within routed territories. Delivery is provided by AFCO’s fleet of company trucks.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Complete orders by accurately picking, loading, and unloading products as needed.
• Accurately place and store products in accordance with company standards and government regulated specifications.
• Receive inbound deliveries and prepare outbound shipments for distribution.
• Perform inventory maintenance activities; identify any missing, lost, or damaged materials and immediately notify the supervisor.
• Safely operate vehicles, forklifts, pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment.
• Maintain the overall general upkeep and housekeeping of the warehouse and surrounding area while adhering to OSHA, state & federal safety regulations.
• Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes and continuously develop skills.
• Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information with an emphasis on developing positive professional relationships.
• Practice punctual and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrate a commitment to excellence and high standards, especially in terms of providing outstanding customer service.
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrate basic computer skills, including navigating websites and receiving/sending emails.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop and kneel frequently.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 60 pounds.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Proven track record of being dependable and reliable.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience working in a warehouse setting or an understanding of shipping/receiving processes.
• Product knowledge in one or more of the following areas: feed, seed, pet food & supplies, hardware, fencing, animal health, tack, clothing & footwear, lawn & garden or wild bird supplies.
• Experience safely operating pallet jacks, forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
• Demonstrate proficiency using Windows-based computer software, including Microsoft Office.

SCHEDULE
Full-time, 40 hours per week position, typically Monday – Friday. Qualified applicants must be available to work
evenings and/or weekends as needed.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
$18.00 – $24.00/hour. After meeting eligibility requirements, benefits include:
