Warehouse Supervisor

AFCO Distribution & Milling is a division of Skagit Farmers Supply, a diversified agricultural supply cooperative. Skagit Farmers Supply, based in Burlington, WA, has been in business since 1934, and continues to grow and adapt to meet the needs of the farmers, homeowners, businesses, families, and communities in the Pacific Northwest. The company operates Agronomy, Propane, Refined Fuels and Wholesale divisions as well as ten retail Country Store locations in Washington & Montana. Our commitment is to provide quality products and services to our customers and community partners.

AFCO serves over 800 retail customers. The company distributes products such as animal feed, wildlife products, pet food and supplies, fencing and livestock equipment. Customers receive weekly orders within routed territories. Delivery is provided by AFCO’s fleet of company trucks.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervise the day-to-day workflow of warehouse staff, ensuring efficient operations across warehouse functions.
• Work in receiving, inventory and order picking with the team.
• Safely and regularly operate a vehicle to make deliveries, visit various worksites, other businesses or customer locations.
• Motivate, train, and develop warehouse personnel, providing constructive feedback.
• Work with management to conduct annual performance reviews and resolve personnel issues as they may arise.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
• Identify opportunities for operational improvements and set goals.
• Collaborate with management to plan, direct, and coordinate warehouse programs and projects.
• Assist in planning drivers’ routes and coordinating transfers from the warehouse to delivery destinations.
• Maintain accurate documentation and recordkeeping related to warehouse operations.
• Monitor the physical condition of the warehouse facilities and equipment, recommending repairs and improvements as needed.
• Safely operate forklifts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks, ensuring all staff are properly trained in equipment use.
• Stay informed on industry best practices, trends, regulations, and innovations relevant to warehouse operations.
• Promote and enforce safe work habits and practices
• Exhibit an ability to get along with others.
• Practice punctual and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years’ experience in warehouse operations, shipping & receiving and/or logistics management.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and safe driving history.
• Demonstrate strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Demonstrate a commitment to excellence and high standards.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods; bend and stoop frequently.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 60 pounds.
• Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office
• Be a self-starter with highly developed ability to direct the efforts of self and others.
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Possess a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• College degree in business, management, logistics or a related field preferred.
• Exhibit a high level of product knowledge in one or more of the following areas: feed, seed, pet food & supplies, or wild bird supplies.

SCHEDULE
This is a full time, 40 hours per week position. Shifts will generally be scheduled between 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.,
Monday through Friday. Specific shift times may vary. Qualified applicants must be available to work evenings
and/or weekends as needed.
