FCO Distribution & Milling is a division of Skagit Farmers Supply, a diversified agricultural supply cooperative. Skagit Farmers Supply, based in Burlington, WA, has been in business since 1934, and continues to grow and adapt to meet the needs of the farmers, homeowners, businesses, families, and communities in the Pacific Northwest. The company operates Agronomy, Propane, Refined Fuels and Wholesale divisions as well as ten retail Country Store locations in Washington & Montana. AFCO serves over 800 retail customers. The company distributes products such as animal feed, wildlife products, pet food and supplies, fencing and livestock equipment. Customers receive weekly orders within routed territories. Delivery is provided by AFCO’s fleet of company trucks.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Safely and regularly operate all aspects of a box truck to transport products to customers.
• Deliver a variety of farm, pet and feed products.
• Follow routes and time schedule.
• Unload and load products into box truck utilizing pallet jack or forklift.
• Perform basic warehouse duties as needed.
• Work with management to provide feedback on customer needs and requests, and to develop and execute strategies.
• Ensure that delivery truck receives basic service according to maintenance schedule, reports service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor.
• Maintain a safe, clean working environment and equipment while adhering to OSHA, state and federal safety regulations.
• Follow DOT regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain basic records of truck mileage and deliveries made.
• Ensure excellent customer service is provided.
• Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes and continuously develop skills.
• Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information with an
emphasis on developing positive professional relationships.
• Practice punctual and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Area of Coverage:
Based out of our distribution center in Spokane Valley, WA, this position provides scheduled deliveries to customers throughout Eastern and Central Washington, primarily serving the Spokane, Tri-Cities, and Yakima areas.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license to operate a commercial motor vehicle
(10,001 lbs. GVWR). Maintain a safe and insurable driving record.
• Possess a valid driver license and maintain a safe driving record.
• Possess or be able to obtain a Medical Examiner’s Certificate for the operation of a commercial motor
vehicle.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment.
• Physical ability to sit for extended periods; bend, stoop and kneel frequently.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrate basic computer skills, including navigating websites and receiving/sending emails.
• Demonstrate strong organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
SCHEDULE
This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position, typically Monday – Friday (schedule may vary). Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS $19.00-$24.00/hour.
