Warehouse Associate

Burlington, WA

AFCO Distribution & Milling is the wholesale division of Skagit Farmers Supply, founded in Burlington, WA. We are a local agricultural supply cooperative, serving the community since 1934. We have grown into four main business divisions: agronomy, retail, energy, and wholesale distribution & milling. Our commitment is to provide quality products and services to our customers and community partners.

AFCO distributes pet food & supplies, farm animal feed & supplies, as well as wildlife products. We serve over 800 retail customers throughout the Northwest. Deliveries are provided by the Company’s fleet of trucks out of our distribution center warehouses located in Spokane Valley, Centralia, and Burlington, WA.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Complete orders by accurately picking, loading, and unloading products as needed
  • Accurately place and store products in accordance with company standards and government-regulated specifications
  • Receive inbound deliveries and prepare outbound shipments for distribution
  • Perform inventory maintenance activities; identify any missing, lost, or damaged materials and immediately notify the supervisor
  • Safely operate vehicles, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment
  • Maintain general upkeep and housekeeping of the warehouse and surrounding area while adhering to OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations
  • Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes, and continuously develop skills
  • Collaborate, communicate well, and effectively relay information with an emphasis on positive professional relationships
  • Practice punctual and reliable attendance

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrate a commitment to excellence and high standards, especially in providing outstanding customer service
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop, and kneel frequently
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 60 pounds
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Proven track record of being dependable and reliable

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a warehouse setting or an understanding of shipping/receiving processes
  • Product knowledge in one or more of: feed, seed, pet food & supplies, hardware, fencing, animal health, tack, clothing & footwear, lawn & garden, or wild bird supplies
  • Experience safely operating pallet jacks, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment
  • Proficiency using Windows-based computer software, including Microsoft Office

Schedule

Full-time, onsite position based in Burlington, WA. 40 hours per week, typically Monday – Friday. Qualified applicants must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.

Compensation & Benefits

$18.00 – $22.00/hour. After meeting eligibility requirements, benefits include:
