AFCO Distribution & Milling is a division of Skagit Farmers Supply, a diversified agricultural supply cooperative. Skagit Farmers Supply, based in Burlington, WA, has been in business since 1934, and continues to grow and adapt to meet the needs of the farmers, homeowners, businesses, families, and communities in the Pacific Northwest. The company operates Agronomy, Propane, Refined Fuels and Wholesale divisions as well as ten retail Country Store locations in Washington & Montana. AFCO serves over 800 retail customers. The company distributes products such as animal feed, wildlife products, pet food and supplies, fencing and livestock equipment. Customers receive weekly orders within routed territories. Delivery is provided by AFCO’s fleet of company trucks.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Safely operate all aspects of a tractor trailer delivery truck to transport products to customers.
• Perform routine safety checks on vehicles through visual examinations and DOT regulated pre and post-trip requirements.
• Transport goods to retail customers, following routes and timing schedule.
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
• Load and unload retail customers orders utilizing a pallet jack or forklift and lift-gate.
• Electronically maintain driving logs while adhering to federal hours of service.
• Provide timely communication to customer service department regarding any customer issues or changes.
• Work with management to provide feedback on customer needs and requests.
• Ensure that truck receives service according to maintenance schedule. Reports service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean working environment and equipment while adhering to OSHA, state and federal safety regulations.
• Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes and continuously develop skills.
• Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information with an emphasis on developing positive professional relationships.
• Practice punctual and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL).
• Must possess or be able to obtain current DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
• Background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and other Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
• Commitment to excellence and high standards especially in terms of providing outstanding customer service.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 60 pounds.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Proven track record of being safe, dependable and reliable.
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to follow verbal or written directions.
• Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous experience operating commercial vehicles with a DOT-regulated employer
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving and analytical skills
SCHEDULE
This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position. Generally, Monday through Friday, 6:00 PM to 2:30 AM, though the
schedule may vary. Evening and occasional weekend availability is required based on operational needs.

Based out of our warehouse in Lace
