The swing shift Feed Mill Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the feed mill to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality production of animal feed. This role involves leading a team of operators, operating and maintaining machinery, ensuring compliance with FDA, FSMA, and safety regulations, managing inventory, and coordinating with maintenance to minimize downtime.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise daily feed mill operations including milling, mixing, pelleting, and bagging to meet production and quality goals.
- Provide hands-on leadership during the shift by supporting production activities, overseeing shift transitions, and assisting with facility opening and closing.
- Train, mentor, schedule, and support feed mill operators; lead daily and weekly housekeeping and sanitation activities.
- Ensure all products meet quality, nutrient, and safety standards in compliance with FDA, FSMA, biosecurity, and company protocols, including proper sequencing and clean-out procedures.
- Enforce all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, DOSH), maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and assist with preventative maintenance and minor repairs on feed mill equipment; coordinate with maintenance on major or emergency repairs.
- Monitor ingredient and commodity inventory, including bin levels; request ingredient deliveries as needed to support production.
- Safely receive, load, and verify shipments; maintain accurate production, inventory, maintenance, quality, and employee hour records.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.
- Promote a positive, professional team environment through clear communication and problem-solving.

- Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information with an emphasis on developing positive professional relationships.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment.
- Possess a valid driver license and maintain a safe driving record.
- Proven track record of being safe, dependable and reliable.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Demonstrate strong organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, and climb ladders.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods while working on a bagging line.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
- Strong mechanical experience
- Experience in grain handling and FDA regulations
- Experience safely operating pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.
Schedule
This is a full time, 40 hours per week position. This position works four, ten-hour shifts. Typically scheduled from Monday – Thursday, 2:00 pm to 12:30 am. Must be available to work other shifts and/or weekends as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
