AFCO Distribution & Milling is a division of Skagit Farmers Supply, a diversified, local agricultural supply cooperative. Skagit Farmers Supply was founded in Burlington, WA in 1934 and has grown into four core business divisions: agronomy, retail, energy, and wholesale distribution & milling. AFCO serves as the company’s wholesale and feed manufacturing division. We distribute products including pet food & supplies, animal feed & supplies, as well as a wide variety of wildlife products. Deliveries are provided by a fleet of company trucks from the company’s distribution center warehouses located in Burlington, Centralia & Spokane Valley, WA.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and coordinate the daily tasks of receiving and stocking personnel.
- Train, mentor, and motivate team members, providing ongoing coaching and support. Assist management in conducting annual performance reviews and addressing personnel issues as needed.
- Accurately receive and document all incoming freight, verifying shipments against receiving documents, packing slips, and purchase orders.
- Ensure all received products are properly labeled, stored, and accounted for in the inventory system according to established procedures.
- Maintain adherence to receiving and inventory control procedures to ensure accuracy.
- Assist customers with will-call orders, collaborating with customer service representatives to ensure accurate and timely product loading.
- Manage received freight, ensuring proper documentation before releasing products for sale in accordance with established procedures.
- Identify and report receiving or invoice discrepancies and assist in resolving issues.
- Monitor for security risks and potential theft.
- Collaborate with the inventory control team to maintain accurate stock levels, investigate variances, and correct discrepancies.
- Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes and continuously develop skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information with an emphasis on developing positive professional relationships.
- Practice punctual and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent.
Possess a valid driver license and maintain a safe driving record.
Pass a pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment.
2+ years receiving experience.
